About Us

Citizens Advice Corby & Kettering

With our roots as Corby Welfare Rights formed back in 1981, we’ve grown over the years to merge with Corby CAB in 2007 and then later with Kettering CAB in 2011.  We have operated across the two towns and their surrounding areas as Citizens Advice Corby & Kettering for the past 12 years, and we look forward to serving our communities now and in the future.

Funding

Although we are heavily reliant upon volunteers for the delivery of advice, we still need money to run our local services.

Despite our affiliation with the national brand of Citizens Advice, we remain a small, local charity with limited resources and funds available to us.  Our organisation is built on the needs of our local communities and staffed by workers and volunteers from our local area.  We prioritise our services for local residents, and work to benefit and improve the lives of people who live in our nearby towns and villages.

We secure funding from various sources; from trusts and foundations who generously support our activities, and we have in the past been fortunate to receive the support of and apply for funding from local government - but no matter how carefully we budget, the grants we currently receive will not allow us to keep up with the growth needed to fulfil the ever-increasing demand for our services.

If you are able to help us generate much needed income, or you are able to make a donation to our service , please contact us at admin@casck.co.uk

All support for our service is always greatly appreciated, and all donations are used to allow our service to support local clients; this could be helping to prevent or relieve homelessness, supporting someone to take control of their debts, or providing information from a wide range of advice areas to support a client to make informed decisions about their issues – in all cases, your donation will go towards helping someone from our local community find a way forward.

Quality & Management

Citizens Advice Corby & Kettering is a local, independent charity and member of the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux, trading as Citizens Advice.

We are managed by a volunteer Trustee Board, some of whom are also Directors of the Company, made up of local people from varying backgrounds.

We are a registered charity: charity registration number 1119081 and a company limited by guarantee: registered number 6156809 England.  Our debt advice work is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority: FRN 617563.  Our registered office is Citizens Advice Corby & Kettering, The Corby Cube, Parklands Gateway, George Street, Corby, Northamptonshire, NN17 1QG

As members of the national Citizens Advice organisation we must adhere to strict standards for the running of the service and undergo an annual audit for the management of the organisations as well as monthly assessment of the quality of our advice.

We hold the Advice Quality Standard accreditation for advice in welfare benefits, debt and housing.
